Why should you care?

There is something truly beautiful about the way a light, powdery snow blankets the earth, the bare trees covered in a light dust of winter.

A lot of people dislike the colder, winter days but I think that there is beauty and a feeling of natural bliss if you just stop for a second and breath in the brisk air.

Growing up I was always outside. Whether I was riding bikes around my neighborhood or going for walks with my dogs on our local nature trail, I have always found peace in the natural world.

But I think that we have lost a little of that wonder and love for our environment.

The more connected that we become through technological advances, the more disconnected we as a society have become from one another and more importantly, from the awe-inspiring world around us.

The environment is constantly making headlines. Another earthquake, more forest fires, natural disasters are nothing new, but the concern about the future of our planet is growing in alarming rates.

So why should you care?

Through this blog I hope to spark conversation about climate change concerns, share tips and tricks on how you can make a difference, discuss current events worldwide and closer to home, all while reminding you why you should care.

At the same time, I am also a firm believer that spending time in nature and outdoors can help improve your overall health. From traveling to going for a walk, nature can be beneficial for the mind, body and soul.

While the name of this site is a play on words for how nature can bring you happiness, I should also credit Coffeemate as I am also a coffee lover and I am fully aware that the name of this blog is a rip off for coffee creamer.
